Together in my dream

🌙  We were together in my dream, you and I. I set a faded constellation in your hair and you laughed, saying that now you controlled fate. I told you fate is only the result of the choices we make. We both laughed. There are illusions out there in the void. Phantasms, crafted and abandoned by something long-forgotten or perhaps nothing at all, but you wouldn’t believe me…

You couldn’t see them, and so they ceased to be. Instead, we journeyed deep into the hinterlands of the universe. There are a million upon a million worlds out there in the deep, it’s simply a matter of opening your eyes while they’re still closed. Awake, you can stare at the stars and be looking into the past. You and I, we went all the way out and made history…

We could craft a million words out of dust, my love. We could breathe life into them and let them go spinning away into the void. We could assume divinity, love, but the void will only ever be as beautiful as it is reflected in your eyes. Forever is a very deep place…

If we could somehow find the bottom I’d set fire to the cosmos and dream of dreamless sleep. I have seen supernovae in your eyes; dying suns, venting into the void. Plot a course for the farthest galaxy from this one, baby, and it still won’t be half to far enough away. Sleep just isn’t as deep without you…
