In life, we often waste valuable time and energy worrying about things beyond our control. This is known as the circle of concern — situations, people, or events that we cannot change. Instead of focusing on these external factors, it’s essential to shift our energy toward the circle of control: the things we can influence, such as our actions, choices, and responses.

When we live in a reactive state, we allow circumstances and other people’s behavior to dictate how we feel. This drains energy and creates unnecessary stress.

Proactive individuals, however, focus on what they can control — their habits, mindset, and daily decisions. This proactive mindset leads to growth, empowerment, and emotional resilience.

  • Worrying about traffic, weather, or politics
  • Obsessing over what others say or think
  • Feeling powerless about bills or external events

  • Choosing what to eat and how to care for your body
  • Setting healthy boundaries in relationships
  • Practicing mindfulness and gratitude

When you consistently invest your energy into what you can control, your influence grows. By setting clear intentions and boundaries, you’ll find that the challenges outside your control lose their power over you. This shift not only reduces stress but also aligns you more deeply with your true purpose and higher self.

Keep a close eye on your circle of control. Set Those boundaries. Having passion for your life-purpose driven vision isn’t enough. You have to boundaries to keep driving towards your dream with self love.

I work with a lot of passionate people. Too often they are passionate about everything put in front of them… they never say no. Said another way, they never commit focus and resources to any single project long enough to make a difference.

You have to have boundaries. Boundaries are what enable you to focus your energy, attention and resources and create an impact. Saying no to someone or something is saying yes to your vision.

It’s a simple lesson, but hard to remember in the moment. Boundaries are your friends. Commit to you!
