Timing is powerful

Think of the importance of timing in life. It takes one moment, chance encounter, or meeting with someone to change the trajectory your entire life. Timing is often about being in the right place at the right time and taking full advantage of opportunities when they present themselves to you.

This article will explore the deeper meaning of patience, reasons to have hope, and the importance of time frames in psychic readings, spiritual growth, life transitions, and emotional healing. Learn when patience serves your highest good—and when it may become time-wasting and full of false hopes.

Developing patience is about accepting that growth and success often require time, which allows for reflection and resilience, while maintaining an active and intentional, rather than passive, sedentary (idle) engagement with life.

“But if we HOPE for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” –Romans 8:25

What is Patience?

Patience is the capacity to remain calm, composed, and tolerant in the face of delays, difficulties, or personal discomforts. It means being able to wait without frustration, to endure challenges with grace, and to maintain a positive outlook even when current circumstances are far from ideal.

At its core, patience reflects a long-term mindset — the understanding that meaningful outcomes often require time, persistence, and consistent effort. It’s the quiet strength that helps us navigate setbacks and obstacles without losing focus or heart.

Patience also demands emotional discipline. It’s the ability to pause, regulate impulses, and resist the urge for instant gratification. Rather than reacting hastily, a patient person responds with thoughtfulness, weighing options carefully and making decisions from a place of clarity, not urgency.

5 Reasons To Be Patient With Timeframes

Timeframes and patience are intertwined; patience allows for proper timing and can lead to better outcomes by preventing rushed decisions, but there is a point where patience becomes detrimental and may require you to reassess the situation.

  1. Impatience projects WORRY and worry is a waste of our precious time and life. Impatience projects negative energy and negative intention (yes worry is an intention) out into the Universe and into your personal energy field… actually blocking what you are waiting to receive.
  2. Patience teaches. Love is required for patience. And Patience also is required love. There no escaping either. Love of ourselves or love of another person. Love yourself and others enough to allow THEIR lives to unfold as it should. Not on your time schedule. Rushing something or someone that is still developing and learning can cause damage. If a person is rushed before they are ready in a relationship, for example, they may come froward sooner.. but will take 10 steps back inevitably down the road.. to learn the lesson hat they’ve missed.
  3. YOU have something to learn: if you don’t learn it and speed through something you’re bound to repeat the pattern until you slow down and learn the lesson yourself. If events aren’t unfolding the way you had hoped… examine this!
  4. You Have Something to Teach: You have something to teach someone else before they are ready
  5. Something or Someone you’ve been waiting for is NOT READY FOR YOU

When does patience become Time wasting?

Patience and False Hope

How do we discern between genuine patience that leads to positive outcomes and the subtle trap of unproductive waiting and false hope. Patience can become time-wasting when it extends beyond a reasonable timeframe without signs of progress, positive change, or personal improvement.

What begins as a virtue rooted in trust and perseverance can slowly shift into passivity, especially when it becomes an excuse for inaction, avoidance, or fear-based hesitation.

It becomes counterproductive when waiting indefinitely hinders personal growth, delays decision-making, or prevents necessary actions from being taken. In these moments, what we call “patience” may actually be masking discomfort with change, resistance to risk, or a reluctance to confront hard truths.

Discernment is key. Healthy patience is active — it involves observation, reflection, and preparedness. Unhealthy patience is stagnant — it holds us in place without purpose or alignment.

The difference lies in intention: Are we allowing time to mature a situation wisely, or are we passively postponing what needs to be addressed? True patience supports progress; unproductive waiting only prolongs the inevitable.

Timing and psychic readings

When a psychic reading delivers a timeframe

One of the most frustrating aspects of a psychic reading are timeframes. The most frequently asked question in psychic readings is “When?” When will I find true love? When will I find a job? When will I have a baby? People want to know when something will happen and they look to psychic readers to accurately predict the timing of important life events.

The simple truth is that time in and of itself is not a constant. When there is no such thing as time, it’s hard for a psychic reader to be accurate about when something will happen.

You may even have heard some psychics say that “there’s no such thing as time in the spirit world”. And this is TRUE. It takes a huge amount of skill and years of practice to be able to make and TRUST a prediction about time, when you are working with an energy frequency where time doesn’t exist.

So why do some psychics give you a time frame prediction then, if nothing is set in stone? Some psychics may feel that in order to sound amazingly accurate and mystical, they must give specific dates. Many psychics receive a date during a reading, but don’t realize it’s mercurial, and other (extremely unethical) psychics will just tell you what you want to hear so you’ll be happy with your reading *at the time*, but will find the need to keep calling back (and spending more $$!) to ask again, WHEN. Be cautious of them!

When I read for my clients and they ask me when something is going to happen, I sometimes get a timeframe, like 2 weeks, 2 months, or 2 years, but with the provision that it’s only going to work out in the given timeframe, *IF* the client ACTS and does X, Y, or Z. And even then, a client can cause something to happen sooner, or can cause an event to inadvertently take much longer, by their own actions or inactions.

Please Note: * While psychic readings with me are enlightening, empowering and uplifting, it’s very important to remember that not every prediction will be what you want to hear.

We Change Time

Why Timing and Free Will Matter

You have the power to change timings. If you feel that you’re always chasing time, it might be hard to believe that you have much more control over time than you think. Free will often (often, not occasionally) gets in the way of timeframes.

As a shamanic healing practitioner, I understand that everything that appears in our lives is a manifestation of what is going on inside of us, and that we are able to slow time down or speed it up in terms of how fast or slow things seem to happen for us.

Even if you really want something, you can either dramatically delay when it will manifest into your life, or even subconsciously block it out altogether sometimes making it appear as if the psychic made a mistake in their timing predictions.

The good news is that we can also learn to speed things towards us, too!

An ethical psychic reading will be able to identify what is preventing something from manifesting in your life, show you exactly how to remove the blocks, and how to best evolve into your own creative power in order to manifest what it is that you desire.

Always Remember…

A moment of pause in the rain captures the emotional essence of waiting with hope

Time is the one thing we are all born with, for better or worse. Don’t waste it waiting for anyone or any thing.

Every moment you spend wishing it away is a moment spent dead, and you’ve got all eternity to do that.

Sitting around waiting for the Universe to come and hand-deliver your dreams is not glamorous, and it’s not romantic.

It’s a waste of the only true currency that’s worth spending in a world made of distractions and easy ways out, and deep down we all know that.

Get busy building your own world, or the world will get busy dismantling you. And it cares nothing for your romantic notions of waiting in the rain for something that will never arrive unless you go after it yourself.

And that includes practicing patience!

Are You Waiting With Purpose?

Not sure if patience is still serving you or you’re clinging to false hope and wasting valuable time? There’s a difference between passive waiting and purposeful patience.
