Meet The Shadow Self You’ve Been Avoiding. Heal. Integrate. Evolve.
Shamanic Shadow Work
Shadow work brings awareness to the parts of ourselves we are resistant to (fear, loss, trauma, pain) which are most often rooted in past life or childhood events. Accepting your darkness will allow you to take responsibility for yourself, and once you truly acknowledge your dark traits instead of avoiding them – suddenly, Your Shadow Self will stop having control over your behaviors.
Embracing Your Shadow Self
If you’re truly honest about self-exploration during your soul journey, you will come across many aspects and traits about yourself that you will find uncomfortable and difficult – if not completely disturbing – to acknowledge and accept.
Shadow work is not about destroying your shadows but about embracing them, which in-turn can transform these disowned aspects of yourself into sources of power, wisdom, and authenticity.
A Shamanic shadow work sessions will help you truly love and accept who you are, including embracing your Shadow Self.
Shadow work can be approached in different ways, including simple meditation, dream journaling, mudra light language therapy, energy healing, inner child healing techniques, and more.
When we approach shadow work from a shamanic perspective, it is often accomplished with a focus on “shamanic soul retrieval.” In the traditional shamanic point of view, when someone experiences a traumatic life event, a part of their Soul may “split off” and disconnect from the body an effort to keep itself protected.
If that soul part (which is energy) does not naturally return and reintegrate on it’s own, this becomes an experience of “Soul Loss,” in which a persons personality changes and they may feel sad, anxious, depressed, disconnected, or otherwise unlike themselves.
Through the ritual of Shamanic Soul Retrieval, and Soul Remembering, Psychic Lilly (a professional shamanic practitioner) works with her healing recipient’s Spirit Guides and animal totems in order to identify and locate lost soul parts that are ready to return, and with the permission of the recipient, are welcomed home once again.
What Is Your Shadow?

“Unless you learn to face your own shadows, you will continue to see them in others.”
Simply put, Your shadow is the denied aspects of your self: the parts of yourself that you do not, cannot, or will not accept.
Your shadow is the unconscious and hidden collective parts of your personality — your repressed emotions, old wounds, instincts, suppressed desires, traits, and other parts of yourself that you’ve rejected or hidden to survive.
Your Shadow Self isn’t “bad.” It’s simply unseen. And what’s hidden… controls you from the ‘shadows’, literally. Shadow work, is the process of bringing these hidden parts into conscious awareness in order to achieve greater self-understanding, self-acceptance and self-love and, thus, wholeness.
You must know and face your shadows, in order to heal them.
Shadow Work And Your Inner Child

Healing begins by acknowledging your inner child shadow — the most vulnerable part of your soul.
Why Inner Child Shadow Work Matters
When childhood trauma isn’t addressed, it can resurface in new ways throughout adulthood. However, it’s never too late to work toward healing and sometimes even reparenting yourself.
Everyone has an inner child.
You might see your inner child as a direct representation of yourself in your early years, a patchwork collection of different developmental stages you’ve passed through, or as a symbol of youthful dreams and playfulness.
Not everyone associates childhood with playfulness and fun, though. If you experienced neglect, trauma, or other emotional pain, your inner child might feel small, vulnerable, and in need of protection.
You may have buried this pain deep to hide it and protect yourself — both your present self and the child you once were.
Hiding pain doesn’t heal it. Instead, it often surfaces in your adult life, showing up as distress in personal relationships or difficulty meeting your own needs. Working to heal your inner child can help you address some of these issues.
Inner child shadow work is a process of confronting and healing parts of your Self that were repressed during childhood by acknowledging the inner child’s unhealed pain, unmet needs, and repressed emotions.
It involves creating rituals and practices like journaling and simple meditation to reconnect with one’s younger self, taking time to explore past trauma, and providing your inner child with the validation and care she missed, ultimately integrating these rejected parts into a more whole and confident self.
When your Inner Child Shadow is unacknowledged and unrecognized, it can lead to:
- Emotional triggers and intense reactions
- Self-sabotage, procrastination, or “stuck-ness”
- Toxic relationship cycles
- Low self-worth, shame, or fear of being seen
- Repeating the same lessons over and over
- Feeling disconnected from your power or purpose
Shadow work for your inner child doesn’t erase these parts — it helps you bring them into the alignment with the Adult YOU, with compassion. Healing your inner child can take time, but Shadow Work a good starting point.
